September 7th; Saying Goodbye :(

This post isn't as fun as my others, but it is something I want to share.

September 7th and 8th we said goodbye to both of my host sisters. On September 7th, my youngest host sister left for Sardinia, Italy, to begin her exchange year! While saying goodbye was very hard, knowing I wouldn't see her again until the summer, and only for a couple weeks at best. But while I had a hard time saying goodbye, I know my eldest host sister and host sibling also had a hard time letting her go.

My eldest host sister spent a year in Uruguay when she was my age, but she said it was harder to watch someone leave than to be the one leaving.

After coming home from seeing my youngest host sister leave, my eldest host sister finished packing to move to Lisbon, Portugal with her best friend. Then, early the next morning on the 8th, we headed back to the airport and saw off my eldest host sister and her best friend. It was more exciting than sad, knowing that I would get to see her again during Christmas!

We got a quick text from my youngest host sister saying she had arrived safely, and that is what ended our tiring weekend of emotions.

Now that I'm writing this, it has been almost two months since both of my host sisters have left, and I know they are doing very well!
