Hi all! This is a quite yummy blog post, so be sure you have something to eat while reading this!
On October 4th, Sweden celebrated Kanelbulle, or Cinnamon Bun, Day! Kanelbulle's are an absolute staple when it comes to Swedish sweets and pastires, especially within fika!
At school, the teachers passed out kanelbulle's to eat together as a class! It was very nice! I wasn't aware of the holiday until I arrived at the train station to head to school, and there were people with tables absolutely full of kanelbulle's selling them! They were being sold by the store Pressbyrån, a convenient store you will see in almost, if not all, train stations here in Sweden. This day, the kanelbulle's were being sold for 10kr ($0.90)!
That night, I met up with an exchange friend of mine and we got kanelbulle's before going home for the day! I had plans to cook dinner for the family, and made chicken wings with fried cauliflower and potatoes! It was amazing, such a comfort meal, especially since the weather was getting colder!
After dinner, my host dad pulled out a bag of kanelbulle's he had bought before coming home and served them to us! In a photo above, you can see five hands reaching toward the basket of kanelbulle's. That pretty much sums up National Kanelbulle Day in one photo! It was an amazing way to end a busy week on a Friday!
